Andoni Zamoras´ practice is performance-based and circles around the hybridization of linear and circular perception of time and space and the processes of its representation and simulation thereof. His works imitate and reproduce realities with the aim to unmask and deviate from the conventions of the culture from the place he produces each work. He makes use of the tools of classic fiction productions and inserts new narratives into specific contexts of reality. The audience is a key factor in his pieces, both visitors and random strangers, often incorporating them as an active role to the work. He tries to direct the perception of the public by making them move and discover the piece and the qualities of the chosen location from different positions. He reveals the very structure of his projects, twisting the limits of what has been staged and showing boldly or hiding the different layers of fiction that are displayed in the piece.&#38;nbsp; 

His research dives into the spaces where the limits of the virtuality and fiction are particularly withdrawn. He is interested in finding unconventional spaces of representation of society and culture, from recreational parks to simulation training camps, and he sets the eye on them that mirrors the paradigms of the contemporary culture.&#38;nbsp;</description>

The City of Danger is a portrait of several firefighter training towers. The work proposes a reading of these spaces as fragments of a single latent city. A city made up of architectures of danger, where simulation and reality intertwine within the same landscape.

The façades of these buildings replicate those of any urban environment and share a common architectural logic: they are designed exclusively to simulate fires and emergency situations, offering a controlled setting where rescue techniques and responses to risk can be rehearsed.

While the brigades remain on standby, each day begins with a new exercise. These are places where the attempt to control the uncontrollable is endlessly repeated,&#38;nbsp; where danger is reset daily as part of the training. At times, when a real emergency interrupts a drill, the fiction of the exercise collapses, reminding us of the presence of actual risk beyond their walls.

Exhibition in collaboration with Kyulim Kim in Punt WG.&#38;nbsp;
In this exhibition, artists Kyulim Kim and Andoni Zamora display works that redraw an unseen space, where they have no clear governance or frame.&#38;nbsp;

Andoni Zamora attempts to open a threshold for revisiting the spaces within the city of Amsterdam. This transformation is enhanced through performing and staging interactions in urban gray spaces. He explores abandoned areas and reimagines their stories, aiming to contemplate the continuities and interconnections across distinct spaces throughout the city.

("Angles morts" refers to an area in your range of vision that you cannot see properly but which you should be able to see. For example, when driving a car, the area just behind your shoulders is often a blind spot.)

During the residency at&#38;nbsp; Schouwburg Amstelveen, we developed a proposal that drew inspiration from the narratives and roles embedded within the SBA. We focused on each theater team member’s relationship to performance and work and explored their interactions within the different spaces of the building. The project´s&#38;nbsp; framework merged terms like role, job, work, and performance and indirectly reflected the dynamics inside the building. Thereby metaphorically opening up the walls of the SBA to make each space into a stage. 

We conducted 25 interviews with theater staff from every department, focusing on their perspectives on performativity and their remarks for an enhanced, rather utopian, workspace within the existing building. From these discussions, we crafted a script using the gathered testimonials, envisioning a fictional space that harmonized the collective aspirations. 

Engaging professional actors and performers, we staged a performance piece¨Repeat, Represent, Assist¨ that traversed the theater's various sections, presenting the narrative in the different divisions of the venue, such as the lobby, backstage, offices, and performance halls. We challenged the rigid architecture, blurring the lines between audience and performers, questioning where the performance truly begins and ends. Moreover, we ignited a collective exploration of the future dreams that reside within the halls of Schouwburg Amstelveen.

UNA TORRE EN LLAMAS is an audiovisual project in which a succession of scenes is represented inside a simulation tower. This building is based in the Fire Department of San Sebastian and is designed to be de scenario where that firefighters train and simulate any potential threats that happen in the city. Floor after floor, the video shows how the firefighters simulate  rescue maneuvers with “dummies”, which are used to represent the bodies of citizens. A voice-over,  interpreted by an actor, gives a memory to the mannequin and  narrates the testimonies of 9 firefighters that I interviewed. I asked them if they ever experienced a situation in which they felts that were not prepared to face reality outside of work, as civilians.

NEXT STOP invited the audience of Amsterdam to take a seat inside a coach bus at dusk and carries them along a fictional narrative crossing the edges of the city. For this piece, we designed a ride that mixed fiction with real contexts and appropriated the imagination of the urban landscape and highlighted what is already present. Both the interior and the exterior of the couch are used as the stage, combining the natural experience of traveling by bus and the experience of being immersed in a cinematic narrative. Transit is the main concept in this project, both geographical and metaphysical, and is represented by the two characters that encounter each other along the ride.

&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; UNTIL THE FLAVOR LASTS is a performative installation that overlays various temporalities and fictions that the artist Andoni Zamora collected and produced for this specific time and place. At Het Hem, he builds stages that bring the past and present history of the building, questions the context of the exhibition itself and reflects with restrictions that have limited your way of looking at it. He makes use of those different narratives to direct and deviate the perception of the public through different fragmented storylines that are represented by the same body of a performer. This body acts in different voices and positions on a given script that will interact with each other.&#38;nbsp; The performer repetitively shifts through different scripted personas – from actress to the narrator, from fictional voices to real ones – blurring the boundaries of what has been scripted and giving the space to navigate through her steps.

&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; 
&#38;nbsp; GRAY DWELLER is a quest which took place in a pocket underneath a rail bridge, in which incredible ecology can be found at the edge of the city. The interface for the quest were the phones of people engaging with the work, to which images, instructions, and videos were messaged at various intervals. This positioned the audience as an actual character in a fiction, rather than a mere participant. By creating the conditions under which the space could be discovered – by placing actors there, without the knowledge of the audience of their participation – I was able to direct even the feelings of safety that the work invokes. In the quest, references can be found to rave culture, strange ecologies, murder, and other such anomalies that happen in the grey areas of city edges. As such, it presents these spaces as having no clear governance, but also incredible potential for strange and exciting encounters.

 &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; I GET IN THE ROOM is a performance piece where the actress repeatedly mimics the same movements and words inside a meeting room from a faculty. With an accurate choreography, she narrates the actions and the memories from her student activities in that room. With each repetition, the structure piece starts to "collapse" in a way that the perfomer´s will take lead of the narrator role. The audience presence changes in each act of the script, so that the content shifts from the different perspectives.
